Around 128,000 young people study in Munich, but the student union offers only about 11,000 apartments. The majority of students have to find accommodation on the private housing market – and this in a city where, with almost 55% single-person households and immensely high demand, available apartments are particularly hard to come by. This situation is unlikely to change in the foreseeable future.

The facade, with its griddled metallic look, is dominated by casement windows of varying depths and is based on the wave form as its leitmotif. The top two floors – the 5th and 6th floors – are set back on an internal level, separating the penthouse apartments from the other floors.
